In 1952, with the transfer of Father Ball, S.S.J., the parish welcomed its sixth pastor, the Reverend Vincent Severino, S.S.J. who served for six years until 1958. During his pastorate, the parish continued to grow and passed the one hundred mark in the number of families served by the church. The Reverend Philip McLoon, S.S.J., followed Father Severino in 1958.
During the pastorate of Father McLoon, the new rectory was built. The former rectory was utilized for parish meetings and for the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD). Considered at this time, was the possibility of a parish school staffed by the Oblate Sisters of Providence. However, this phase of parish development was not realized.
In 1961, the Reverend Father Francis Tighe, S.S.J. who was to be the last of the Josephite Fathers to administer the parish, succeeded Father McLoon, S.S.J. During Father Tighe‘s tenure, the number of Catholic families grew to one hundred and twenty-five. The customs and traditions of church activities continued to flourish and the Catholic population grew in the area surrounding Glenarden.
